Desolation Peak is a solo journaling RPG about a fire lookout alone in the Cascade Mountains during a season that goes wrong in ways the training manual does not cover.

You arrive at your post with a radio, a logbook, and a clear directive: watch for smoke.

Draw cards. Consult the oracle. Write what you see.

At first, your entries are precise. Professional. Observational.

Then the radio speaks when it shouldn’t. The mountain looks different depending on when you look at it. Something at the treeline keeps its distance. Something in the fire does not.

This game explores isolation, observation, and the slow erosion of certainty. The journal is the game. When the watch ends, the record remains.

You are not the first person the mountain has done this to. Jack Kerouac spent 63 days here in 1956 searching for inner peace. What he found was The Void.

You are alone. The radio works. The mountain is visible.
